1st Night 3rd Hour - Designing with Nano Banana
I’d been staring at my prototypes Claude magicked for me, thinking, “I need something that looks like an app, that is elegant but not boring and definitely not eye-popping.”
Then I remembered Nano Banana, the AI-powered design generator superstar from Google that can turn your app ideas or PRDs into visual mock-ups.
So I fed it my updated PRD and a simple prompt:
Within minutes, it gave me screens that felt like something I’d want to open on my phone: cheerful buttons, soft gradients, and a layout that didn’t scream “template.”
Of course, it wasn’t perfect (nothing ever is). But it generated a visual that none of the vibe-coding tools can: a unique background. A background that I can export and use in Lovable. And for that I needed 2 prompts (could have done with 1 utilising the Aspect ratio setting, but hey, it worked!):
Show only the background image of this design
Generate this same background, but with 16:9 aspect ratio
💡 Don’t wait for inspiration to strike → outsource it to tools that can give your ideas shape. Once you see your concept on-screen, it’s so much easier to refine and build.
Next, let’s connect it all in Lovable and make a working prototype!
